And moving on...

Just a brief note to thank you to everyone who has written after my "rant" yesterday (as Dan termed it). I do think that when Dan has a down moment, I take it much worse then during my own. What I posted was a bit blowing off steam, and a bit of personal note to him not to put it all on himself. But as Dan says, it's nice to have this blog to put it out there once, and get on with the day without dwelling on things. Sweet release.

Also, we have a few things to get straightened out with insurance so Dan will most likely start on the treatment early next week.

Plenty of things keeping us busy this weekend- Nationals game, looking for houses, trip to see the Waegers and maybe a much needed beer or two :) Where did the summer go?

Dan,
Awhile back I wrote a post saying I couldn't wait to get a bracelet that said "Waeger Won." Well, for the record, I am an idiot. You have won.
Your battle has helped me understand how fortunate we are and precious life is. I can complain about the stupidest of things and then I read another one of your post's. It makes me feel selfish. I believe that realization has helped me become a better husband and father.
I never stopped to count my blessings, but your fight has opened my eyes.
I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. So, everything that you are going through, and your willingness to share it, have not only had an impact on those of us reading this blog but on all those whose lives we touch.
I know you started this blog as an outlet for your feelings and a way to help others who may be feeling the same things but is so much more. It is helping so many people who have never met you or may have never laid eyes on this blog.
Regardless of the outcome you have made a LOT of people's lives better. You are a true inspiration.
YOU HAVE WON

Friend: Sharing true feelings is never a "rant." It's an honor to share in this journey with you. Our prayers are with you.

I just stumbled upon your blog, and am very impressed with your intelligence, drive, and passion in taking on this fight. Like yourself I am a young cancer survivor (not as young as you, but 43). I've got a slow growing cancer that has metastacized to my lungs, and have been treating the lung nodules with Cyberknife. I've been writing a blog as well, and our (my wife and I) experiences are very similar to yours. You might find some helpful treatment ideas in what we have done. Hey buddy,

I just caught up on your blog. I haven't looked at it in a month or so and I can see that I have missed quite a bit. I will start by saying that I am glad you enjoyed the vacation and have been able to enjoy a few beers. I am also glad that you have chosen a treatment route. I am sure that in itself is a relif. Its ok to be upset, angry, and sad. Like you have said before, you have to express those emotions and then move on. I know that you do not sit around and feel sorry for yourself. I am thankful that God has sent a special young lady (Meghan) to stand beside you and keep you on your toes. As always, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
